For remote locations or where existing host facilities are bottle-necked, the buoy provides in-situ electrical or hydraulic power generation to drive and control submersible well or seabed booster pumps.
Derivatives of the buoy are as follows, which are configured for long term use: -

• Electrical power for downhole electrical submersible pumps.
• Electrical power for power deficient offshore facilities.
• Electrical power for seabed processing facilities.
• Hydraulic power for hydraulic submersible pumps.

Within the existing buoy design deck space is available for six diesel electric reciprocating generators, with fuel stored either on board or in the storage anchor base. Should raw or processed gas be available, then this can be used in lieu of diesel.
Criteria for field identification:

• Fields that require electrical and hydraulic submersible pumps.
• Fields that require power for processing requirements in offshore facilities.
• Fields in remote location (no existing infrastructure or a long distance from existing infrastructure).
• Fields located a small distance from existing infrastructure but where it is not technical or economically feasible to provide a water, gas or chemical injection service.
